Living with Grief: Children and Adolescents April 16, 2008 Swedish Covenant Hospital
Grief is a difficult emotion for anyone, but is especially complicated for children and adolescents who may not be able to fully express their feelings. Swedish Covenant Hospital will sponsor Living with Grief: Children and Adolescents, the 15th annual Hospice Foundation of America teleconference, on Wednesday, April 16, 2008. The teleconference, to be moderated by Emmy award-winning journalist and CNN correspondent Frank Sesno, will run from 11:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A panel of nationally recognized experts will discuss the issues regarding grief and youth, focusing on what situations may engender grief in youth, ways they manifest grief and strategies for working with grieving children, including counseling, expressive and play therapy and school-based programs. The national teleconference will be followed by a local panel discussion at Swedish Covenant Hospital. Anyone assisting children and adolescents in coping with their grief is encouraged to attend; healthcare and other professionals may earn CEU credit.
